God's Will Be Done

Dear Kindred Spirits in Christ,

As I follow the news, with its reports of wars and rumors of wars, I'm reminded that our God is in complete and total control. I reflect on the biblical uprisings of ancient days, with their outcomes of both victory and defeat, and how our ancestors were blessed with heavenly help, as well as allowed to suffer the consequences of disobedience to God.

Ultimately, we have the victory in Christ. As believers, we claim this promise - often amid the turmoil of our private wars and battles - that can rage in our hearts for any number of reasons. We carry the scars of these encounters, seeking healing and restoration from the front lines of life itself. Our Lord says in Isaiah 41:10: Fear Not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God.

Sometimes our feelings of unworthiness can allow us to doubt. We must remind ourselves that it is the grace of God that carries us through the most difficult times in our lives. We join in prayer with those crying out to our heavenly Father for rescue and protection - for basic needs and Godly intervention. And we know that He hears. And we must continue to pray, and help in any way that we can, as the Holy Spirit directs.

Deuteronomy 20:4 states: For the LORD your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory...It is a matter of faith, that beautiful, undeniable force that has conquered giants and subdued evil forces since the beginning of time. It is also a matter of God's will. We can't always understand the LORD'S purposes or plans. But we can trust Him and we must.

In the midst of destruction and chaos, we have the promises of Christ Jesus to comfort us. John 14:27: Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you, not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Love Always,

Marti
