Something Beautiful
Dear Kindred Spirits in Christ,
Tonight I'm reflecting on life itself. The mystery of it, the richness and splendor, the profound process that takes place from heaven to earth - and back to heaven yet again. Who else but God Himself could have conceived such a gift, such a magnificent opportunity! This flesh life is a testing ground, yes, a world of trials and tribulations, of pain and sorrow. But I look again, and it's so beautiful!
The colors, the textures and terrains, the infinite possibilities given to each of us who believe and pursue our dreams with passion and faith. We are here for the blink of an eye, but it can be a stunning moment in time, a time of both service to our God and each other, a time to gaze in wonderment at all we have been blessed with, and a time to learn and grow as we travel through the valleys of life, using our God given compasses of conscience and hope to aim for higher ground.
It is written in 1st Peter 3:3-4 that personal beauty "should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight."
Ecclesiastes 3:11 states "He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end."
I find these verses speak to my heart at many levels. We have a promise of beauty and eternal life, yet it is beyond our scope of total understanding. I think we will grasp it all someday, in total awe. Until then, let's strive to look past our brief moments of pain and want, believing that there is something beautiful before our very eyes, when we focus on our heavenly Father and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Love Always,
Marti
